The Library of Congress was closed which is ok because they don&#8217;t carry my book. (Hmph!!) We walked by the LOC but saw a lot more than that:<\/p>\n<p>Capitol South Metro station<\/p>\n<p>Capitol Hill<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Peace monument<\/li>\n<li>Grant monument<\/li>\n<li>Garfield monument<\/li>\n<li>The <em>other<\/em> reflecting pool (this one with water!)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>US Botanic Garden and Conservatory<\/p>\n<p>National Air and Space Museum<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Space Ship One<\/li>\n<li>Spirit of St. Louis<\/li>\n<li>Apollo 11 return capsule<\/li>\n<li>Touched a moon rock!<\/li>\n<li>Wright flyer<\/li>\n<li>Space lab twin<\/li>\n<li>There were so many amazing aircraft, i can&#8217;t begin to list them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>L&#8217;Enfant Plaza Metro station<\/p>\n<p>National Museum American History (briefly, it was very crowded)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Instruments (small exhibit! Found more instruments near the lobby but still oddly small)<\/li>\n<li>1933 exhibit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>National Gallery of Art<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nineteenth century French (including impressionists)<\/li>\n<li>Dutch etchings<\/li>\n<li>Italian religious paintings (old, ole triptychs)<\/li>\n<li>Amazing rotunda and indoor fountain<\/li>\n<li>Rembrandt<\/li>\n<li>Rodin and Degas sculptures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Oh, and when we walked by the Butterfly Garden today, I realized we walked through it yesterday lunch. This is not the Butterfly Habitat, that was something else that we opted not to do.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Oh, and since I mentioned dinners, tonight we got takeout from Carmine&#8217;s, It was a lot of pasta pomodoro. And a fantastic champagne cocktail. <\/p>\n<p>(C, you said you didn&#8217;t want to know so stop reading. Everyone else can scroll down.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Both days I clocked in over 20k steps and more than 9 miles a day.
